Dr. K. Koray Bas graduated from Ege University Faculty of Medicine, one of the most prestigious internationally recognized
medical faculties in Turkey. After completing his residency in General Surgery, during his surgical career, he has been
professionally interested in all disciplines of general surgery, especially in the field of Weight-Management procedures
and Minimally Invasive Surgeries (MIS) as Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, Gastrointestinal Surgical Endoscopy and
Robotic Surgery.
During his academic career, as an enthusiastic educator and trainer, he has been involved in the
education of medical faculty students as well as training in residency and fellowship programs. In addition to his clinical
and academic activities, he is personally interested in medical and surgical innovations such as Virtual Reality and
Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence, and Simulation-based Surgical and Medical Training Systems. He also works
with the medical industry to develop new surgical devices and equipment. He holds a European Board of Surgery in
Minimally Invasive Surgery, is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and is an active member of the Society of
American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
He has been promoted to the position of Full-time Clinical Professor
and the Chair of the Department of General Surgery at Izmir Bakircay University Hospital, Turkey.
Prof. Dr. Kadir Koray Bas has moved to Dubai in January 2022. With 23 years of extensive professional experience, he held
the Medical Director position at Yugen Care Surgical Center, Dubai. Currently, he continues his clinical activities in
particularly Weight-Management as well as Minimal Invasive Surgeries, Advanced Gastro-intestinal Endoscopies, and
Surgical Oncology Treatments at Enfield Royal Clinics and partner hospitals such as Dubai London Hospitals, Burjeel
Hospital for Advanced Surgery and Gargash Hospital Dubai. He has also recently started working at YAS Clinic Khalifa City,
in Abu Dhabi.
