A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Cardiological Society of India, Dr. Koshy Georgey has acquired special training in Interventional Cardiology. After his basic and advanced studies in Medicine, Dr. Koshy worked with one of the world’s well-known cardiac specialty hospitals in Bengaluru, India, and specialized in cardiac-related procedures and surgeries. In the second phase of his career, Dr. Koshy moved to Qatar and worked with a well-known multi-specialty hospital in the Cardiac dept, before joining the Cardiac facility at BMC, as Chief Medical Officer.
At BMC, Dr. Koshy Georgey is the CMO and Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the hospital’s state-of-the-art Cardiac Care Dept. An ardent student of medical journals, a Golfer, and a multi-lingual personality, fluent in English, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, and work-related Arabic, Dr. Koshy is undoubtedly a professional inspiration for Team BMC, and an asset in the management of the hospital’s Cath Lab, Adult and Paediatric Cardiology Care and other related super-specialty sections.
Accomplishments
True to his reputation as a man known for innovation and start-up projects, Dr. Koshy with his team initiated the first Cardiac Catheterization Lab in the private sector in Qatar and was also closely involved in the start-up of the first private cardiac surgical program there. He has also initiated two Catheterization Labs until full functionality and developed critical cardiac care facilities in two multi-specialty hospitals in the UAE.
He routinely expertly handles complex coronary cases, peripheral vascular interventions, and comprehensive procedural management of heart failure situations.
